Mahler cycle
We are entering the third season of our Mahler cycle in 2025/26: Symphonies Nos. 1, 5 and 7 will now be followed by Nos. 2 and 10.
Paavo Järvi and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich are devoting themselves intensively to the great symphonist with the Mahler cycle. "We are fanning out Mahler's oeuvre: We are adding the young Mahler and the later Mahler to the picture we have gained with Mahler's Fifth," says Paavo Järvi.
With a view to the realisation of the "Symphony of a Thousand" No. 8, which is planned for the 2027/28 season, we are delighted to have gained a long-term partner. We will be guests at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden for one residency each season in the coming seasons - including in the 2025/26 season: with Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2.
