Kirill Gerstein impresses with his interpretations on the piano and is shaping a sensational new generation of pianists as a teacher. In the 2025/26 season, he will be our focus artist.
Pianist Kirill Gerstein has been associated with the Tonhalle Zurich since the beginning of his career: In 2000, he was introduced here as an up-and-coming talent at the Orpheum concerts. The Zurich press was just as enthusiastic as the audience: "Wondrously cantabile" and "with a clear head and nimble fingers" - attributes that have lost none of their validity. He now accompanies the next generation as a teacher on their way to the top. His old love of jazz can also be felt in the classics of the repertoire and contemporary pieces when he presents them with captivating ease.
