Born in 2001, the Finnish-Cuban pianist Anton Mejias discovered his special love for Bach's music at an early age. He played the first book of the "Well-Tempered Clavier" at the age of ten and has since added the second book, all the French and English Suites and the six Partitas to his repertoire. He tries to "bring out the incredibly rich emotional side and the heart of the music without overlooking the intellectual side and the style," he says. And he does this so convincingly and naturally that Gary Graffman, his former teacher at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, predicts a great future for him: "I think he could be remembered as one of the great Bach players of our time."
