Gabriel Mălăncioiu «Piccolored Life» Konzert für Piccolo und Orchester – Uraufführung
José Pablo Moncayo «Huapango»
They are between 14 and 24 years old, fit on their instruments - and highly motivated to play in an orchestra. Young people have been given the opportunity to do this since 1987 in the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra, which is closely linked to the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich as a Junior Music Partner. It is conducted by our principal trombonist David Bruchez-Lalli. Mahler's "Totenfeier" is followed by a lively piccolo concerto, which fascinates with light, playful melodies and is interpreted by the dedicatee Haika Lübcke - also a musician in the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. The programme concludes with the dance-like, lively world of Mexican composer Jose Pablo Moncayo. The concert offers an exciting mixture of emotions and rhythm.
