Oops! The princess has dropped her favourite golden ball down the well. How can she get it out again? Well, a frog wants to help her? How nice of him. Or does he?
Because he asks for a lot in return: he wants to play with the princess, eat and even sleep in her bed. She promises him and then gets her orb back. She is so happy that she forgets about the frog, but he insists on her promise. The princess is disgusted and does not want to honour the agreement. Her father, the king, intervenes and says she must stick to her promises. Will that work?
In this new version of Grimm's "Frog Prince", the scenic perspectives change: Frogs set the conditions and princesses stand up for themselves. This interplay is musically framed with new music by Rodolphe Schacher and Thomas Adès.
